Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information CenterOf ("we," "us") collects when you use the app, why we collect it, and who we share it with. CenterOf helps a group of people find a fair meeting spot, or plan a road trip, by taking the addresses you provide and computing travel times between them.
Information we collect
Account information. If you sign in (via email/password or Google), our authentication provider, Clerk, collects your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, your name and profile photo.
Addresses you enter. The addresses you type in to find a meeting spot or plan a route are sent to Google Maps Platform to be geocoded and used to calculate travel times. If you save a search or road trip, those addresses and results are stored in our database, tied to your account, until you delete them.
Payment information. If you subscribe to CenterOf Pro, payment is processed by Stripe via Clerk Billing. We do not receive or store your card details — Stripe and Clerk handle that directly.
Local preferences. Your dark/light mode preference is stored in your browser's local storage and never sent to our servers.
How we use it
- To compute fair meeting points and road trip routes for the addresses you provide
- To let you save and reload past searches and road trips, if you're signed in
- To process CenterOf Pro subscription payments and manage your billing
- To operate affiliate links (OpenTable, Uber, Lyft, Booking.com, Hotels.com) — clicking one takes you to that company's site, sometimes with a referral code attached; we don't share your personal information with them beyond that click
Third-party services we use
- Clerk — authentication and subscription billing
- Stripe — payment processing (via Clerk Billing)
- Google Maps Platform — geocoding, place search, directions, and photos
- Neon — database hosting for saved searches and road trips
- Vercel — application hosting
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on our behalf.
Data retention and deletion
Saved searches and road trips are kept until you delete them individually, or until you delete your account. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us using the details below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request.
Children's privacy
CenterOf is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
